With a Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of $69.5 billion (nominal), Assam has shown a robust growth rate of 19% in the last fiscal year alone. The economic structure of Assam is well-balanced among its primary, secondary and tertiary sectors, contributing 35%, 19%, and 46% respectively to the economy.
Assam's Economic Vision for 2030
Assam is set on an ambitious path to reshape its economic landscape by the year 2030. With a strategic vision to double the state's economy from its current GSDP of US$ 69.5 billion in fiscal year 2024 to US$ 143 billion, Assam is aligning its resources and policies to fuel significant growth. The state plans to invest $25 billion in capital outlay by the end of fiscal year 2030, fostering substantial public and private sector collaboration.

- Assam contributes approximately 50% of India's onshore natural gas production.

- Home to the Brahmaputra River basin with an annual flow of 537.2 billion cubic meters.
- National Leader in Other Resources
- Second largest jute producer with 1.6 million bales annually.
- Fourth largest in rubber production.

- India's largest OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) facility located in Jagiroad.

- Houses 4 oil refineries with a current capacity of 7.1 MMTPA, expanding to 13.95 MMTPA.
- Longest River Bridge
- Home to the Dhola-Sadiya Bridge, the longest river bridge in India, spanning 9.15 kilometers.
